Lamentation Mountain Hike
Please join us for an educational hike up Lamentation Mountain, where the Berlin Land Trust is purchasing 47 acres as part of our continuing effort to preserve this scenic trap rock ridge. This is a great opportunity to hike and learn more about this beautiful mountain.
When: Saturday Oct 26, 2019 at 10am
Where: Giuffrida Park - Westfield Rd, Meriden CT (we will meet in the parking lot)
Route: The hike will follow the blue-blazed Mattabesett trail to the summit at 720’ and then continue along the ridgeline to the north peak near the 47-acre parcel. This will be a round-trip of 5.4 miles.
Difficulty: Moderate *
Duration: 3-4 hours
* Hikers looking for a shorter trek can turn around at the summit, which is a round-trip of 3.4 miles.
Each hiker should bring plenty of water, snacks or light lunch, sunblock & insect repellent. A daypack, waist pack or jacket with pockets to carry these items is recommended. Proper hiking clothing and footwear (hiking boots, hiking shoes or trail runners) are important for a safe and enjoyable trek.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
